Natural landscape in Q Station
This is a comfortable and interesting place to stay, full of Australian immigrant history and with great facilities. The history tour was well worth taking, and Hannah, our guide, was excellent. The shuttle bus from Manly made it easily accessible from Sydney as the pick-up point is close to the ferry terminal, so we had no need of a car. The site is on a steep hill so the accommodation area is a short uphill walk from the cafe and restaurant but the friendly staff with their pickup buses were always at hand to give us lifts around the Q station area. Fabulous beach for swimming.

The Quarantine station is part of Sydney's history and a lovely location to stay to take in the harbour, the heads and the grounds, we stayed in a Heritage King Room. Its proximity to Manly and the ferry services links the stay to everything that Sydney offers. Keep in mind that it is a historic location that comes with wear, tear and other limitations. We were aware of these limits prior to booking and had a very enjoyable stay. Free on-site parking, on-site private harbour beach and a competitive room rate.

Robert

Loved the location, beautiful views walking around the bush surrounds and discovering all the many buildings and history of the place. Free shuttle was handy, comfortable room, buffet breakfast was reasonable, again with scenic views, a great spot if sitting outside on a sunny morning. Great service, rooms are to be expected, old and historic but renovated into ok comfortable rooms.

Catherine

The location was perfect, the room was ok but no air conditioning which was disappointing coming from WA most venues are air conditioned I would have thought but maybe that is just the west coast. The view was nice looking at the bush. The walk down to the wharf cafe, beach and restaurant was nice, we got to spend the day there hiring kayaks when not having appointments.

Vanessa

It feels like you are in a quiet, country location, but you are 5 minutes from the bustle of Manly, sitting on the verandah looking out over sweeping views of Sydney Harbour, with echidnas and bandicoots wandering by, and owls and bats sweeping past. Peaceful and private, and adequately equipped.
